Fue bastante popular a inicios de los años 2000's pero, al usar archivos de texto como bases de datos pronto quedó en evidencia que ante avalanchas de solicitudes por la gran cantidad de usuarios no era la mejor opción y naciendo alternativas como SMF que prácticamente lo han reemplazado.

Pero aún así YaBB sigue existiendo hasta nuestros días, no, YaBB no ha muerto, es como el fénix, ha resurgido de sus cenizas.
